Although the interest and the sport are growing rapidly in Europe, the only truly recognised professional league is still in the United States, the American Cornhole League (ACL). So far, there are not many Cornhole players who can make a full living from the sport, but it is well on its way.
In this article, we take a closer look at how much a professional Cornhole player earns. We also break it down to show the different types of income that can be generated over the course of a season.

How much does a professional cornhole player earn?
A professional Cornhole player earns between $5,000 and $25,000 per year. A Cornhole player makes money through sponsorships and prize winnings from various tournaments. A few players can earn more than that, but it is not something that happens often within a single year.
Below, we break down how much a Cornhole player can earn from different sponsors and tournaments. A Cornhole player does not receive a salary from a team. Instead, they need to secure sponsors and win tournaments.
Here, we have calculated how much a professional Cornhole player can earn in a year. Further down, we take a deeper look at each tournament and revenue source.
Revenue type | Revenue per player |
Sponsors | $5,000 |
Local tournaments | $3,000 |
Regional tournaments | $2,500 |
Conference tournaments | $900 |
National tournaments | $10,000 |
Total annual revenue | $21,400 |
During the 2022–2023 season, major sponsors such as ESPN have stepped into the sport as sponsors, and some tournaments now feature prize pools of over $50,000. As you can imagine, there are opportunities to earn significantly more as a Cornhole player than the example above suggests.
ACL promotes the season with the phrase “$1,000,000 season”, which indicates that new prize money is constantly flowing into the sport as it continues to grow.
How much cornhole players earn from sponsors
An average professional Cornhole player earns around $5,000 per year through sponsorships. When sponsors purchase ad space, they typically choose between five different spots on the jersey. The jersey usually includes one main sponsor and four smaller sponsor placements. The cost varies depending on which spot is chosen.
Cost of sponsor placements:
- Main sponsor: approximately $2,000
- Smaller sponsor placements: approximately $750 per spot
As with many growth-focused sports, not all professional players succeed in securing sponsors, which means they also do not earn as much money.
How much cornhole players earn from tournaments
In simple terms, there are four different types of tournaments that a cornhole player can participate in to earn potential prize money. The different tournaments are:
- Local tournaments
- Regional tournaments
- Conference tournaments
- National tournaments
Prize money from local tournaments
Local Cornhole tournaments are generally held once a week. The entry fee is usually $5, and players are randomly paired with a partner. The winners typically receive 50% of the entry pool, which amounts to around €50 per person. The theoretical calculation is: 20 participating teams (40 players) x $5 = $200 in total entry fees. The winning team receives 50%, which equals $100 to split between them.
A professional Cornhole player can be expected to win around 10 local tournaments per season, which would mean approximately $500 per season. However, there are also players who win significantly more than that.
Prize money from regional tournaments
Regional tournaments are held once a month in each region. As a professional Cornhole player, you can take part in multiple regional tournaments each month. It is common to participate in, for example, four regional tournaments per month.
Typical entry fees and prize payouts look like this:
Blind Draw Doubles: $10 per player with 75% payout
BYOP (Bring Your Own Partner) Doubles: $20 per player with 75% payout
Singles: $20 per player with 75% payout
Assuming 20 teams enter Blind Draw Doubles, 10 teams enter BYOP Doubles, and 20 players enter Singles, the prize money would be as follows:
Blind Draw Doubles: $300 total prize pool; $150 to the winning team ($75 per player)
BYOP Doubles: $300 total prize pool; $150 to the winning team ($75 per player)
Singles: $300 total prize pool; $150 to the winning player
The majority of professional players max out their regional points, which means you can estimate they earn around $1,250 per year from regional tournaments. However, many players participate in up to 40 regional tournaments annually, and if they win about 25% of those events, they could earn around $2,500 per year.
Game type | Total prize pool | Winnings team’s profit | Per player |
Blind Draw Doubles | $300 | $150 | $75 |
BYOP Doubles | $300 | $150 | $75 |
Singles | $300 | $150 | $150 |
Total | $900 | $450 | $300 |
Prize money from conference tournaments
Conference Cornhole tournaments take place three times a year. Professional Cornhole players are required to participate in at least two of the three events. Entry fees and prize payouts typically look like this:
- Blind Draw Crew Cup: $10 per player with 70% payout
- Singles: $25 per player with 70% payout
- Blind Draw Doubles: $15 per player with 70% payout
- BYOP (Bring Your Own Partner) Doubles: $20 per player with 70% payout
Most players compete in all four formats. Estimated prize payouts per player:
- Blind Draw Crew Cup: $560 total prize pool; $280 to winning team ($70 per player)
- Singles: $700 total prize pool; $350 to the winner
- Blind Draw Doubles: $420 total prize pool; $210 to winning team ($105 per player)
- BYOP Doubles: $560 total prize pool; $280 to winning team ($140 per player)
Top Cornhole players can typically win two of the formats across the three events, which adds up to around $900 per year.
Game type | Total prize pool | Team winning’s profit | Per player |
Blind Draw Crew Cup | $560 | $280 | $70 |
Singles | $700 | $350 | $350 |
Blind Draw Doubles | $420 | $210 | $105 |
BYOP Doubles | $560 | $280 | $140 |
Total | $2,240 | $1,120 | $665 |
Prize money from national tournaments
National Cornhole tournaments take place four times per year. Here is a list of the different game formats, entry fees, and prize money.
It is reasonable to assume that one of the better Cornhole players can win around $2,500 per event and earn a total of approximately $10,000 from national tournaments in a year.
Game type | Total prize pool | Winning team’s profit | Per player |
Pro/Advanced Crew Cup Shootout | $2,540 | $1,000 | $250 |
Pro Doubles | $10,000 | $2,500 | $1,250 |
Pro Singles | $10,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 |
Pro Blind Draw | $10,000 | $2,500 | $1,250 |
Total | $32,540 | $8,000 | $4,750 |
